Several images showing the repair of small fusee chain. The old rivets need to be plucked out, and the two halves of chain joined back up with new rivets. Very similar to a tiny bicycle chain.
Handmade decorative regulator hand for an early 19th century French or Swiss verge watch.
Anonymous English fusee from the late 1700's. Hallmarks indicate 1773, but it quite possibly was recased at some point. Complete COA service, plus fitting a replacement outer case provided by the customer.
Joseph Johnson, Liverpool. Original case with assay marks for Chester, 1837. Fusee lever with a Massey type III escapement. Serviced, with some minor repairs.

Steven Humphrey is a very modest specialist on English and fusee watches. He can tackle many other models with success.. I have become a huge fan of his work on restoration of Fusee watches. Particular the Tobias range of watches of which he has made parts and renovated where I thought after appraisal a lost cause. Not so ! His skill level is very high and reflected in his work and dedication. If in the right knowledgeable hands like Steven he will renovate and make parts. His attention to detail providing information and his skills are much to be admired. I highly recommend him as a very likable character that will go the extra mile for you...Therefore I recommend Steven and Lost Time Emporium from my own experience.
Steve restored my grandfather's pocket watch which I had inherited as a "sentimental basket case". The watch is a common cylinder movement from about 100 years ago. While it is not a particularly valuable watch, it has great sentimental value in my family. Steve understood this and worked with me through the restoration to make choices that honored the watch as well as my budget. Some things were replaced or refurbished, like the dial, hands, and crystal. So things we left as-is, like the crown which had been worn nearly smooth over time by my grandfather's fingers. Steve's communication and workmanship were top-notch, and I would gladly entrust another heirloom to his capable hands. (Photo shows before and after.)
